GLF® Jacket Repair Wrap
Use as a jacket repair or conduit repair when severe conditions tear or puncture the original cable jacket or conduit. Laminate of a tough, abrasion and oil resistant backer and mine mastic provide a fire resistant jacket wrap with excellent moisture exclusion properties. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153 MSHA Acceptance. 50-mil (1,3mm).

Plytuff® F/R PVC Jacketing Tapes
PVC tape specifically formulated for flame resistance and abrasion resistance. Use for repairing nicks and tears in all mining cables. 1000V/mil dielectric strength. Use this tape for primary insulation through 600 volts. Ideally suited for securing premolded and shrinkable sleeve ends to the cable jacket. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153 MSHA Acceptance. 7-mil (0,18mm) and 10-mil (0,25mm).

L969 F/R Splice Compound (Linerless)
Use to insulate around the connector area on splices from 600 volts through 69kV. Also used to fill in irregularities and to smooth out the splice profile before applying jacketing tape. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153-MSHA Acceptance. 30-mil (0,76m).

Neoprene Vulcanizing Compound
A vulcanizable neoprene compound that flows easily within range of mold temperatures from 260°F - 330°F (127°C - 166°C). Bonds readily to all types of neoprene jacket compounds. Chemically bonds to the original jacket without the need of a bonding agent. Provides a waterproof covering with outstanding resistance to oil and abrasion. Quick-cure system greatly reduces mold time. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153-MSHA Acceptance. 80-mil (2,3mm) and 30-mil (0,76mm).

Hypalon Vulcanizing Compound
A vulcanizable hypalon compound that flows easily within range of mold temperatures from 260°F - 330°F (127°C - 166°C). Bonds readily to neoprene, hypalon, PVC and NBR-PVC jackets. Chemically bonds to the original jacket without the need of a bonding agent. Provides a waterproof covering with outstanding resistance to ozone, oil and abrasion. Quick-cure system greatly reduces mold time. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153-MSHA Acceptance. 30-mil (0,76mm).

Neoprene Reinforcing Compound
A laminate of vulcanizable neoprene and an open weave of high strength, fire resistant nylon used to restore the splice area in the cable to nearly its original strength. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153-MSHA Acceptance. 30-mil (0,76mm).

EP - Vulcanizing Compounds

  • Compound A- An ethylene propylene compound rated through 69kV used for restoring cable insulation. It is compatible with all solid dielectric insulations. It chemically bonds without the need of a bonding agent. 30-mil (0,76 mm).
  • Compound B- Partially cured EP barrier compound which is needed to retain the symmetry of the joints during the vulcanizing process. Compatible with all insulating compounds and chemically bonds with the need of a bonding agent. 30-mil (0,76 mm).

These tapes are used in conjunction with a vulcanized apparatus.

Splicing and Termination Kits

Splice Kits

Mine Power Feeder Splice Kit
Use for splicing single and multi-conductor cable found in the mine and prep plant. Kit contains all components to construct an electrically sound splice. The splice utilizes F/R Plyvolt linerless EPR insulating tape, which provides void-free build-ups, high dielectric strength, low electrical loss and a resistance to corona. Emergency overload rating of 130°C. Connectors not included.

PTCS Trailing Cable Splice Kit
Use to construct a full or partial splice in single or multi-conductor portable mining cable of type W, G, or GGC construction and rated 600V/5kV. Also can be used for conduit repair and to repair damaged cable jackets. Connectors not included. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153-MSHA Acceptance.

GLF® Trailing Cable Splices
Use to construct a full or partial splice in a single or multi-conductor portable mining cable of type W, G or GGC construction and rated 600V/2kV. Also can be used for conduit repair and to repair damaged cable jackets. Title 30-CFR 18.64, P-153-MSHA Acceptance.

An anti-tracking, skirted silicone rubber cold shrink termination for tape shielded, wire shielded, JCN and Unishield® cables. Universal kit design fits all extruded dielectric cables with unique pull-over tabs for fast and easy installation and superior insulating qualities. Design range covers 5-8kV (3/0 AWG to over 1000kCMIL), 15kV (2AWG to 1000kCMIL), 25-28kV (2/0 AWG to 1000kCMIL). Meets IEEE Standard No. 48, Class 1.

Mine Power Feeder Termination Kit
Use for terminating Mine Power Feeder cables through 15kV. Each kit will terminate a 3 core type GGC, shielded power cable common in mining operations. Also ideally suited for motor lead terminations that are typical to mining and prep plant operations. Each kit contains 3 rolls of Stress-Wrap voltage gradient material, 3 ground connectors, 3.24" (0,6m) ground ribbons, cleaning solvent and a fine grit cloth. Terminal not included. U.S. Patent #4,187,389. Stress-Wrap is a laminate of EPR high voltage insulating tape and a special voltage gradient stress relieving compound.

Mine Terminal Wrap
Use for terminating 3 core shielded cables when installing a coupler. Each kit contains 3 rolls of a specially formulated Stress-Wrap 1" (25mm) wide coreless rolls. Stress-Wrap is a laminate of EPR high voltage insulating tape and a special voltage gradient stress relieving compound. U.S. Patent #4,187,389.
